#10 Ways To Stop Worrying At Night & Get A Good Sleep 10 Ways To Stop Worrying at Night and Sleep Like a Baby

1. Ask yourself, what is the likelihood that what you are afraid of will actually happen? We often realise that the chances of it really happening are actually pretty small.
2. Another important question to ask: Can you do something now to prevent it? If yes, do it. If not, because you do not have any influence over it, than worrying will not solve it.
3. Ask yourself: Whose fears and worries are these anyway? We so often hear worries of others and internalize them. It doesn’t do you any good. So picture yourself packing those worries in a nice box. Put a strong ribbon around it, and hand back those worries to those from whom they came.
4. Pack the remaining worries in a vault and lock it. You can come back to it next morning. I heard this technique from Ramit Sethi. So Ramit, if you read this, kudos to you. It works. The mind feels reassured, we acknowledge the existence of the worries and make the promise that we will come back to it at a later moment.
5. Picture the best thing that can happen. You can do that. It is no more difficult than picturing the worst that can happen. But the results are far more beneficial to you.
6. Meditate or do a guided relaxation to calm you down. Go for a walk. The fresh air and some exercise will do wonders for your mood.
7. In general, take care of your body. Exercise regularly. Have a healthy diet, rich in omega 3 and vitamin B.
8. Prepare your bedroom. De-clutter, remove or unplug all electronic devices, do not charge your mobile near to your head, make the room as dark as possible, aerate before going to sleep.
9. Always try to go to bed around the same time. Do not eat at least three hours before going to bed.
10. Try some “Good night” herbal teas or valerian (Valeriana officinalis) drops, or other herbal remedies which help you relax without getting addicted to them.
